I already had a license for the professional animation software
Moho. A few years ago I tried it out a bit. However, the continuation failed because of the motivation to first learn all these fancy functions of the software before I can start animating. And I didn’t have a story for a film either.
As I described
in another blog article, on 11/11/2020 the story was there all of a sudden. And I wanted to start this new heart project as soon as possible, it felt like a wonderful creative gift from Gaia. With such a story as an ongoing series in which I could convey important, spiritual content, that would be a project for which I would have the motivation to familiarize myself a little more deeply with the art of animation.
We made a compromise, Gaia and me. I chose a new software. That was
Cartoon Animator 4, as already described on 11/11. purchased and installed.
The reason: I wanted something simpler, it didn’t have to be super-duper-film-ready and professional. It was only about moving a few pixels in the course of a timeline, structured as clearly as possible, so that I get to my goal quickly when I have an idea in my head.
If I have to do as little as possible myself in the actual animation process, then my head is free for creative ideas, I thought, and I believe I decided on a stable program with which I can tell stories in a clearly structured way. Exactly what I need at this point in time to get started.
LATER… if I can use the software’s capabilities really fluently and creatively,… and if there is also a second, third and fourth season of LUNAS AWAKENING… then I could imagine, checking out
Moho and maybe even
OpenToonz, the open source software that has been used to make many
Studio Ghibli films. More options… Maybe.
For the first part of my story of LUNAS AWAKENING, a classic theater style is enough for me. Actually, this is probably how the series will begin, with a curtain that opens. We see scenes from Luna’s daily life, played on individual, partly animated theater stages.
So at the moment I don’t need a lot of BUMM and BANG in the software. I just want to tell a continuous theater story, a realistic and practical way from my point of view, how we can slowly open ourselves to higher dimensions and expanded perspectives.
